Prof. Laloui discussed some of the major challenges facing CO2 geosequestration, a technology which could be vital in Switzerland’s transition away from nuclear as this may mean increased reliance on natural gas. Many of these challenges, such as cap rock stability, induced seismicity, and thermal effects are central research topics in his lab.
