Detachable and Portable Moisture Sensors for Industrial Applications

This paper presents the design, fabrication and testing of an innovative moisture analyzer with a detachable and portable moisture sensor, which can compensate for both bulk density and temperature effects, thus allowing to detect the moisture content in granulates at real time with a precision of 20 ppm and a sensitivity at room temperature of 37.5 fF/ppm. Experimental results obtained from moisture measurements with polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyamide 66 (PA66) and polycarbonate (PC) are reported thus making it possible to use it in a wide range of industrial applications.
