The aim of the present paper is to extend the well-known complex torque coefficient method usually used for synchronous machine rotor oscillations, to a slip energy recovery induction motor drive. To illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed extension, the study is performed on an existing drive system. Results obtained by this analytical method are compared with those given by numerical simulations, and the analysis used to examine the transient behavior of the drive.
