Characterization of ozonation processes with conservative and reactive tracers: prediction of the degradation of micropollutants
1997
Full-scale ozonation processes for drinking water production were characterized with a conservative (sodium chloride) and two reactive tracers (ozone, aqueous chlorine) to yield information about the hydraulics and the oxidation capacity with respect to organic micropollutants. It has been shown by computer modelling that molecular kinetics can be directly transferred to full-scale reactors to predict the fate of organic micropollutants.
