Platinum coatings on Ti were prepd. by a two-step process: partial thermal decompn. of chloroplatinic acid followed by electroredn. of the coating. Effects of prepn. temp. and of cathodic polarization on the roughness factor were studied. Roughness factors >570 were achieved, leading to an enhancement of the activity towards isopropanol electrooxidn. in 1M H2SO4. [on SciFinder (R)]
