Aesthetisation of the counter-culture

Cabeçadas do Carmo, Letícia
2014
Cidade, arte e política. A produção comum de espaço.

By showing two images of wall-covering tiles, both existing at Metelkova Mesto, in Ljubljana, the process of the "aesthetisation of the counter-culture" is shown visually: on one hand, the aesthetics of recycling (grassroots, DiY), on the other hand, the recycling of those kind of aesthetics into a simple decorative "style" (for marketing purposes) Two other cases are shown in Lisbon, inspired by this kind of logic (Pensão Amor & Village Underground).
