We present an original analytical determination of the force acting on the moving coil in an electromagnetic actuator. The actuator magnetic field is solved analytically by Schwarz-Christoffel (SC) mapping. The SC integral is solved analytically using the elliptic functions. We verified the results by finite-element methods. © 2007 IEEE
