Optimizing EV driving-recharge time ratio a under limited grid connection
An evident issue for electric vehicle (EV) is the limited average speed while driving long distances. This paper will provide a better understanding of EV requirements in order to make the electric vehicles more compatible for long distance driving. Battery requirements are specified and the ultra-fast charging station is introduced, where power levelling and load shifting are proposed in order to alleviate the impact of ultra-fast charging on the grid utility; this should be able to satisfy the charging demand according to the electric vehicles frequentation. Then, 24-hour EV road trip are performed to validate the performance of the related system studies.
