A new methodology is proposed for creating and animating the human body based on human anatomical structure. The layered model includes skeleton, bones, muscles and skin. It uses ellipsoids for modeling and deforming muscles and automatically determines the skin by cross-section contours. As an example, we present the muscular deformations for a human arm
