Based on aspects arising from architectural work and academic teaching, this essay addresses the wide-ranging issues involved with innovatively integrating sustainability into architecture. It presents six theoretical questions concerning the underlying problem of a sustainably built environment and uses six projects to demonstrate concrete ways of taking sustainability into account in architectural production.
