2006
12th Biennial IEEE on Electromagnetic Field Computation

An original analytical determination of the force acting on the moving coil in an electromagnetic actuator is presented. The actuator magnetic field is solved analytically using the Schwarz-Christoffel (SC) mapping. The SC integral is solved analytically using the elliptic functions. The results are verified using FEM.
