Ultrafast Isomerization Dynamics of Biomimetic Photoswitches
2009
Ultrafast Phenomena Xvi
Femtosecond UV-VIS and mid-IR experiments show that a new class of biomimetic photoswitches photo-isomerizes in less than 300 fs. In close analogy to rhodopsin, the isomerization is driven by ultrafast motion along the stretch and the torsional coordinates.
