Erbium amplifiers enable low-noise, crosstalk-free optical communication. Recent advances in on-chip Erbium-doped amplifiers using silicon nitride waveguides achieve >100 mW output power, >25 dB gain, and integration of Erbium lasers for coherent pluggable optics modules.
