Relaxation-allowed transfer of coherence in NMR between spins which are not scalar coupled

Chemical Physics Letters

In NMR spectroscopy in an isotropic phase, coherence can be transferred with a single rf pulse between 2 spins which possess no mutual scalar coupling. Such anomalous coherence processes are assocd. with multiexponential transverse relaxation that can arise, among other mechanisms, from cross-correlation between 2 time-dependent dipolar interactions.
