Two new cationic iridium(III) complexes with cyclometalating 1-phenylindazole or 2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazole ligands, (C boolean AND N)(2)Ir(4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-dipyridyl), exhibit yellow or green phosphorescence with quantum yields and excited state lifetimes of up to 45% and 840 ns in argon-saturated dichloromethane solution at room temperature.
