Towards a N77 Electroacoustic Filter Using Thin Films of Crystalline Y-cut Lithium Niobate
January 1, 2021
2021 Ieee Mtt-S International Microwave Filter Workshop (Imfw)
This paper presents the use of a novel type of resonators made of a thin membrane of Y-cut Lithium Niobate that has an array of interdigitated electrodes on the top, and a floating metal on the bottom. Each electrode gives rise to a quasi-independent resonator and the shear waves can be properly excited. We use this novel resonator concept to design two filters at 3GHz central frequency and a bandwidth of 400MHz (13% relative) and 600MHz (20% relative), respectively. We believe this type of resonator will enable n77 bands filters.
