In the three-screen installation "CONFIDENTIAL" (2018) Bertschi traces the spirit of six buildings in Johannesburg’s Central Business District and Pretoria. In South Africa's National Archives, she discovered correspondence documenting the extensive purchase of South African gold by the Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS) during the 1950s. CONFIDENTIAL renders these deals visible, while the buildings become architectural witnesses of this commodity trade.
